randomness and some pinterest love

7 Feb

february is my birthday month.  it is also a month during the year where nothing noticable happens.  it is the down month.  although january is cold and holiday less (besides new years) i think we still come down of the rush that is november and december.  we clean.  we set new year’s goals.  we stick to new year’s goals.  we organize etc.  but then in february it all slows down.  some people don’t like this.  me, personally, i love it.  i like the feeling of having nothing to do but hunker down and be cozy with my little family.

but that also means i find nothing in my self induced coma, over-worked brain to write about.  nada.  i’m empty.  so here are some random things.  you know…like having a converstaion with me over coffee…

do you know about project life?  it’s a scrapbooking system created by becky higgins.  it takes the over-thinking and the need to be super crafty out of scrapbooking.  i started doing traditional scrap books about five years ago.  then a few years back i drifted into project life.  and although i am behind and only play catch up when my friend hosts crops, it is easy to keep up with and if you google or pinterest project life you find lots of neat examples!

speaking of pinterest…i have tried a few new things (and it was brought to my attention that pinterest board of “pinned there done that” exist! huh.  who knew?)

went to MAC yesterday to buy this lipstick.

now…i really like it…however…it looks nothing like this on me!  i have naturally red-ish lips so this doesn’t look as neutral on me.  it actually adds a pop of brownish-pink color to my lips…but a darker brownish-pink than pictured here.  although its different for me to actually wear a color of lipstick…i do like it.  i also purchased this gloss and news flash…it isn’t sticky!!!  i love it!

and no, mac makeup isn’t made in the usa…but it really works on my “maturing” face so it is what it is…if you know of a brand similar in quality and price to mac that is made here…please share!

we made these breakfast cookies: (another pin on my breakfast board)

i think my family doesn’t like oatmeal/oats.  and that is a bummer…i struggle to find healthy and quick breakfasts for my picky breakfast eaters (my kids will not even eat cereal and [almond] milk!)  but this was not a hit here.  it was easy and i did add chocolate chips…but after now trying oatmeal muffins and these cookies, i think my house has boycotted oatmeal.  they have their dad’s texture issues.  but if you like oatmeal i reccomend trying these.  they were so easy and quick!  and you should have everything in your pantry!

that’s it on my end…besides our contest still going on….details below.  have a happy, do nothing kind of day!
