Last weekend, we completed the first of our summer collection photo shoots.   We had a blast!  The talented Toni Geib from BellaFotos took some amazing shots and we thought we should share the fruits of our labor.

These photo includes the following pieces from the MiUS Collection:

Sunny Days are Coming!

28 Mar

I have really been craving some sun lately. I am in northeast Ohio and the past couple of days have included temperatures in the 30 degrees and some snow. But I can still feel spring coming and I with April right around the corner I can almost feel the sun on my face soon. So inspired by those days, here is an outfit option from MiUS Collection (sunnies and sandals from Piperlime)

Sunny Days

First, I love maxi skirts, floor grazing maxi skirts and dresses are having a moment right now. Maxis have always been a style staple for me. They are comfortable, easy, incredibly flattering, and the style is versatile and perfect for transitioning your spring to summer wardrobe.  OH and if you are petite, don’t be shy, try it with some wedges for the maxi perfect length. Above is the Zoe Maxi from MiUS, features a dip die design with gray, white and pink.  Made in the USA of course 😉

The Lily Chain Tank in pink is the perfect combo for this skirt.   The chain adds just the right amount of edge to this feminine color top.  I added this fabu necklace, it is adjustable length and it adds just the right amount of accent to the outfit. Pair it with this Just USA jean jacket, some sunnies and sandals and you are out the door looking stylish and cute.

What do you think?  Do you like the maxi length?

Color Pop

15 Mar

Keep up with the color trend by splashing some color into your outfits. A pop of color makes regular looks fun and funky! Add a bit of color to everyday outfits with shoes, a shirt or even a bracelet — just about any piece can add a colorful accent. The key to popping color is to keep most of the look neutral and add color in random places for some fun. Here are some example images borrowed from Pinterest:

Check out some pieces from MiUS Collection that you  rock this fun color-popping trend and splash some color!

Seasons of Change by Corine

21 Feb

Based on the groundhog’s prediction earlier this month, the new, spring season should be right around the corner.

I am very excited for this change of seasons for many reasons. Of course, the warmer weather and longer days topped my list but there is much more.

For the last three years I have worked on my website My Art to Inspire and freelance design work from home. During that time, I created a simple, casual, yet comfortable style.

My simple winter style consists of dark colored, cashmere sweater dresses, black leggings, and boots. This works even when I have meetings outside of my home. I usually add a necklace, tall boots, or stylish booties to make the look more business casual. Maybe still too casual but it seems to work.

Recently my workload has grown and I have to expand. I need to find a new workspace. So, next month I move to a shared workspace in an office instead of my home. Now my comfortable style and wardrobe definitely needs to be updated.

Lately, I have taken some time to peruse the on-line world of fashion. I checked out the latest trends from the MiUS Collection and other on-line stores for a sense the latest and greatest in spring fashion.

It seems that my daily ensemble of black colored sweater dresses, leggings, and boots need to be replaced by bright, colored pants matched with some colorful floral or patterned blouses and dresses. Hopefully, accessorized by some new bright colored flats or pumps, necklaces or bracelets.

I can’t wait for all of these new beginnings. I am ready to get out of the winter blues and into colorful spring floral designs.

Now where should I begin?

our second trunk show

19 Feb

on sunday we had our second trunk show.  and while my parent’s house is not as swanky as the medina location was, it was a huge hit!  my mom made a bunch of food and invited friends and friends of friends.  my dad helped us to bring stuff in and “entertain” the ladies as they arrived.  my father is very entertaining.  we did very good in sales and it was nice and intimate.  so nice that millie got to mingle with the clients and tell them more about MiUS.  it was also great because she is so good with fashion pairings and could answer everyone’s questions.

what i like about the trunk show is it is not a direct sales party.  yes, we do something nice for the hostess but you don’t need to feel obligated to buy anything.  what the trunk show does is give women the opportunity to touch and feel the clothing and accessories.  it is nice to know that buying “made in the usa” fashion can be affordable and have quality.  it is nice to have a different piece than other people have.  and it is really nice to be able to shop with friends…while sipping wine or sangria and eating yummy food.

remember…even if you don’t make it to one of our trunk shows…all MiUS merchandise has free returns.  so you can order on line…and when it gets delivered, grab a snack and some wine (just please don’t get any on your MiUS goodies) and try on in the comfort of your own home.  if it doesn’t fit or you don’t love it you can send it back.  if you have questions on what will look good with it…send an email to millie@miuscollection.com – she is good with fashion questions and loves to help.

okay…here are some happy photos from our trunk show!

What Sofia Vergara & I have in common.

15 Feb

Hi, my name is Millie and I am a jewelry addict! I admit to being a “jewelry-holic”. I am completely obsessed with costume jewelry. I cannot pass up a jewelry sale at Target or Macys or wherever…i see it…i love it and I must have it! My love for jewelry was comically described by “Modern Family” actress, Sofia Vergara when she told Instyle magazine “I love jewelry -rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, you name it. If my stylist didn’t stop me, I’d go out looking like a Christmas tree,” she said. I have to say…I can completely relate to her!!! Although I do not have a personal stylists, I do have children and they are an abundance of sincere (and sometimes blunt) comments…lol. So I do hold myself back from looking like a Christmas tree in July 😉

So what’s my latest obsession in accessorizing…Stacked wrists!!!

love the look…cannot get enough of it!   Perhaps its a trend that feeds my inner Christmas tree appeal 🙂   But you can take this look any way you like.   You can go from very mod minimalist to over the top glam on the wrists.

Let me give you some ideas on pictures from Pinterest.

minimalist wrist stacking

With a minimalist look you keep all your bracelets in the same tone (Gold or silver tone – just one color).

You can go for a bohemian chic look:

This includes mixes of textures and colors (leathers, metals, etc).  Fun to pull off.

You can go punk:

So these are just a few ideas, but you can really use your style to guide the look you want to go for with your stacked wrists.

do you love the look but afraid to pull it off?? Well MiUS has LaMer watches that provide you with that accessorized wrist look all in one packet.  And these watches are Made in the USA 😉

What do you think of the stacked wrists trend?   Let us know!

Oh, and don’t forget today is the last day to enter!
